Mark Griffith founded his law firm in 1993.  He has always devoted his practice exclusively to the defense of Texas citizens who have been charged with a crime.  Mark Griffith is a trial attorney and has successfully tried cases to “Not Guilty” verdicts from Murder to Driving While Intoxicated.

Mark Griffith was born and raised in Ennis, Texas.  He attended Ennis High School and was the President of his graduating class.  He attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies.  He graduated Valedictorian of his college class with a 4.0 GPA.

Mark Griffith attended the prestigious Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas, which is known for producing top tier trial attorneys.

Mark has three times attended the Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming presided over by the legendary attorney, Gerry Spence, who has never lost a criminal case. Further, Mark Griffith has attended an additional 6 Regional Seminars of the Trial Lawyers College. This is the training used by most of the top trial attorneys in America.

Born into a family of construction workers, Mr. Stamper learned the value of hard work and long days to get the job done. He is no stranger to hard work, and believes that if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. This commitment to excellence defines every aspect of his practice. Since law school, Mr. Stamper has continued to work tirelessly for his clients. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, as well as the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Mr. Stamper currently serves as an on the Board of Directors for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. TCDLA, as it is known, has over 3200 members and is the nation’s largest state criminal defense organization. As part of his commitment to defending those accused of Driving While Intoxicated, Mr. Stamper is a founding member of the DUI Defense Lawyer’s Association.

Mr. Stamper also completed the Forensic Chromatography course conducted by Axion Training Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Chromatography is the method under which most forensic blood alcohol testing is performed when police are investigating intoxicated driving offenses. Led by some of the nation’s leaders in criminal forensic chemical testing, this week-long course involved hands-on training in the very methods utilized by the police.

Mr. Stamper also is a former Director on the Ellis County Bail Bond Board, which is responsible for governing the giving and making of bail bonds in Ellis County, and is a member of the Ellis County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Stamper is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, an honorary organization that recognizes members for their commitment to high ethical and educational standards. He is also a proud Ranch Club member of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer’s Association, as well as a Comanche Club member with TCDLA.

Mr. Stamper graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University, and earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. While in law school, he found his passion defending people accused of crimes. He clerked at the Dallas County Public Defenders Office and the Federal Public Defender Office for the Northern District of Texas. Based on his outstanding performance in the Texas Tech Criminal Defense Clinic, Mr. Stamper earned the Clifford W. Brown Award – an award given to a single student each year by the Lubbock County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Additionally, Mr. Stamper earned many other notable accolades throughout law school, including membership in the prestigious Order of the Barristers, ABA Arbitration National Champion, Criminal Defense Clinic CALI Award for Excellence, Board of Barristers Executive Board, and intra-school Negotiations Champion.

Importantly, Mr. Stamper understands the difficult hurdles that people face, and has devoted his practice solely to criminal defense and helping people during trying times. He believes that everyone, regardless of circumstances, deserves to have their rights protected completely and aggressively. There are no exceptions.

Mr. Hughes grew up in Garland, TX, but is now a proud resident of Ellis County. Mr. Hughes graduated from North Mesquite High School in 2001 and entered the United States Marine Corps the same year. He served five years in the Marine Corps from 2001-2006. He completed two tours of duty in Iraq in 2003 with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade and 2004-2005 with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His experience as a Marine allows him to bring discipline and courage to protecting the individual liberties of every person who seeks the assistance and protection of Griffith & Associates.

After serving his time in the Marine Corps, Mr. Hughes went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX. After that, he went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of North Texas, receiving a BBA in Finance. After college, he attended law school at Texas Tech University School of Law where he focused on criminal defense. While in law school, he worked each summer as an intern with Griffith & Associates, which allowed him the opportunity to gain firsthand experience as part of an elite criminal defense team. During his third year of law school, he represented citizens accused of committing crimes through Texas Tech School of Law’s Criminal Defense Clinic. Based on his outstanding performance representing citizens accused, Mr. Hughes was the second member of Griffith & Associates to earn the Clifford W. Brown Award given by the Lubbock Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Mr. Hughes is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has devoted his practice solely to criminal defense. He believes that everyone deserves a team to stand between them and the government with its endless resources. He understands that every citizen accused is someone’s father, mother, brother, sister, son, or daughter, and that they should be represented as a person; not a file, fee, or statistic. Ted Redington - Attorney at Law

Ted Redington is a board-certified criminal defense attorney with over 35 years of experience. Ted began his private criminal defense practice in Dallas, Texas in 1977. He has represented thousands of clients in various criminal cases in both state and federal courts. Ted is renowned in the criminal defense community for his legal acumen, extensive experience in the field, and genuine regard for his clients.

Ted was certified as a Criminal Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1981. His is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Ted graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1973 and began his career as a criminal defense lawyer with the Staff Counsel for Inmates at the state penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. He became director of that organization, and led the charge in challenging the convictions of inmates there. In 1977, he founded his private practice in Dallas. In 1992, Ted opened an office in Waxahachie, Texas Ellis County and became actively involved in representing criminal defendants in Ellis County.

He has now become a member of the Griffith and Associates Law Firm, which exclusively represents accused citizens in Ellis and surrounding counties.

Ted has been named in Super Lawyer as top criminal defense attorney in 2005 and 2012. He was also featured in the Waxahachie Now magazine.


Venita Phillips

Venita Phillips has been working as a secretary/office manager in a criminal defense office since 1981. She worked with Steve Kelley, Attorney at Law, prior to his untimely passing in 1999. Mr. Kelley was a very prominent Criminal Defense attorney in Ellis County and North Texas.

In 1999, Venita joined the Mark D. Griffith & Associates team and has proven to be an incredible asset in every way. There is no client that walks into the office of Griffith & Associates that does to feel welcome and taken care of when they speak with Venita.

Griffith & Associates has a thriving criminal defense practice, and Venita keeps the office moving smoothly and efficiently at all times.

There have been clients, after their case is successfully concluded, who hug her and thank her for her kindness and her concern.

Jackie Junger

Jackie Junger is a member of our Team. She joins us with over 10 years of litigation experience with criminal and family law backgrounds obtained from working in Dallas County.

She is a graduate from University of North Texas with a BA in Psychology and became a certificated Paralegal attending Southeastern Paralegal Institute in 1991.

Away from work, Jackie is a Mom with two kids. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to fish and enjoys cooking. She assists the team in insuring that every case is ready at all times.


Karin Paris

Karin Paris

Karin Paris is the newest member of our Team. She joins us with over 30 years of civil litigation experience. She is fully conversant with e-filing in state, federal, and appellate courts. Karin is dedicated, and incredibly smart and caring. She worked at one of the largest law firms in downtown Dallas and worked for the former head of the Dallas Trial Section, which over-saw over 100 attorneys.

She is a graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas, with a BA in Psychology. Karin is an Army brat and has travelled extensively.

Away from work, Karin is a huge animal advocate, loves reading and going to the movies.
